Entrepreneurial spirit in Coworking Neuchâtel

The main mission of Coworking Neuchâtel is to promote the entrepreneurial spirit in the canton of Neuchâtel. But what is this exactly? And how do we facilitate the business activity in the canton?

Having an entrepreneurial spirit is the ability to adapt to the changing conditions and to develop in a proactive way. Unpredicted customer demand, the emergence of a new competitor, and a decline in sales require a quick adjustment and on-the-spot solutions that must be implemented without delay. Therefore, an entrepreneur can be described by the following qualities: flexibility, sense of innovation, and speed of execution. Also, an entrepreneurial spirit requires being proactive, which is to prepare for the future. The entrepreneurial manager is, therefore, more focused on developing future projects, and building a new activity.

Newly created businesses not only generate additional jobs, but they also drive innovation and economic growth. In 2018, according to the Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index, which measures the dynamic nature of entrepreneurial activity in countries with economies based on innovation, Switzerland was rated in the second place, right after the USA.

Establishing a company in Switzerland is a fairly simple process compared to other countries, that is why this country is also known for its innovative projects. It only takes a few days to register a limited liability company or a corporation, allowing both local and foreign entrepreneurs to concentrate on what is essential: developing their business. Also, there is a number of associations dedicated to supporting the creation of the companies. For example, ASEN is an association based in Neuchâtel whose objectives are to facilitate access to entrepreneurship and job creation in an entrepreneurial dynamic.

At Coworking Neuchâtel, we organize a number of activities in order to implement our mission:

  • Our goal is to create an environment that is conducive to synergies and exchanges. On a constant basis, we promote networking and collaboration between our members. Our ecosystem comprises 80 members of various backgrounds and we act as a mediator for sharing professional contacts.
  • Our members are concerned about each other’s success and some of them set up a Business Coworking Network (BCN). During these sessions, the members present their activity, exchange on their needs, look for solutions, and share professional contacts.
  • Les Ateliers Entrepreneurs offer a unique opportunity to create, learn with others, and improve the skills you may need in your business.
  • Twice per month, we organize a special event that brings together between 20 and 50 specialists in fields such as blockchain, watchmaking, entrepreneurship, or IT, to name just a few.

For our next event on the 2nd of July at 6 pm, we have invited David Maurer, CEO of Colorix SA, who will come to share his entrepreneurial experience. David Maurer has a background as an internationally active entrepreneur, while his company is based in Neuchâtel.
